Dr Boguslaw Potoczny,
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Group Psychoanalyst
“Meaningful change begins with understanding — not just of symptoms, but of the deeper patterns and relationships that shape us.”
You might struggle with intense emotions, identity, or relationships, often feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or stuck in painful patterns. You may have a history of emotional pain, trauma, or personality difficulties, and are seeking a deeper understanding of yourself. Your goal isn’t a quick fix but meaningful change through reflection, curiosity, connection, and self-awareness. You want to feel more grounded, belong, and relate more openly, and value the depth, integrity and authenticity that therapy offers. Whether in individual or group therapy, we will work together to explore your difficulties and support your growth.
I practice a psychodynamic approach in therapy. In your initial session, we will discuss why you’ve sought therapy and begin building our relationship. We will explore patterns in your daily life, past experiences, significant events, social influences, and our interactions. Together, we will develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, helping you find solutions that are uniquely yours.
I’m a UKCP-accredited psychodynamic psychotherapist and group analyst with experience across NHS, voluntary, and private settings. Currently, I work in a therapeutic community supporting people diagnosed with personality disorder, focusing on long-term relational work that helps individuals navigate emotional distress, build trust, and foster belonging.
Couple, Family and Relationship issues
I offer both individual, couples, family, relationship issues and group therapy for people facing emotional and relational challenges such as depression, anxiety, suicidality, addiction, complex grief, emotion regulation difficulties and personality difficulties. Therapy with me provides a safe space to explore your past and present, nurture insight, connection, and lasting change.
