Em Farrell, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Supervisor

‘ I don’t know how I would manage without your support and clinical astuteness and compassion. Thank you Em!’ – AB.
Em Farrell has been a supervisor since she started working at Regent’s College School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, immediately after completing her integrative training there. She has been a supervisor for coming on to 30 years now and co-ran a supervision training with existential psychotherapist Carol Grace for 3 years. Her psychotherapy work started when she set up an eating disorder centre for women using massage and CBT, back in 1989. She then became more interested in psychoanalytic methods, training in EMDR and then finally in ISTDP. ISTDP stands for Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and is a model of supervision that has greatly impacted her practice. Her aim as a supervisor is to help the practitioner become the best version of themselves within their chosen way of working.

Julie Holiday, Integrative Psychotherapist and Supervisor

Julie Holiday is an experienced Clinical Supervisor with 5 years of expertise and is BPS-approved. Her role involves managing counselling departments across London boroughs, focusing on substance misuse and mental health. Julie provides essential support to both student counsellors and qualified counsellors, ensuring they deliver ethical, professional, and safe practices.
Having studied various counselling approaches, Julie tailors clinical supervision to meet the counsellors’ needs. She encourages autonomy and personal growth by engaging counsellors in Socratic questioning, allowing them to explore their work independently. Her commitment to fostering a supportive environment contributes to the development and growth of counsellors under her supervision.
” I feel like I can be totally honest and that my opinion is valued and heard. My supervisor has this incredible way to allow you to work out your own questions and come to conclusions yourself, whilst guiding you in a way that is supporting and nurturing. The atmosphere in supervision is like a gentle current that opens up passages and chapters that we can in turn unravel. Supervision is an opportunity to bring someone back to their own mind to show them how good they can be’. Rachel Huyton, article published in NCS magazine about Julie Holiday’s supervision

Marianna Vogt, Psychotherapist, Couple/Relationship Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor
Supervision offers a contained reflective space for therapists, counsellors and other professionals working in emotionally complex and demanding roles.
It is a key ingredient to maintaining your wellbeing as you work alongside conflict, trauma, illness and grief.
It is also a creative thinking space that can help you through tricky or stuck situations, shed light on blindspots and find fresh associations and approaches.
I myself engage in regular supervision, and believe it is an essential element of good therapeutic practice throughout one’s career. It keeps me – and can help keep you – sharp, engaged and safe.
