Meet Delfina

Delfina is a psychologist, integrative psychotherapist, and coach with over eight years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate complex mental health challenges, including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and neurodevelopmental conditions. Her practice is grounded in evidence-based care, blending Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), third-wave approaches, psychodynamic principles, and systemic methods to create tailored, culturally sensitive interventions that truly meet individual needs.

What sets Delfina apart is her ability to combine clinical expertise with a collaborative, forward-thinking approach. She has worked across public mental health services and private practice, partnering with families, schools, multidisciplinary teams, and companies to promote emotional resilience and well-being in both personal and professional contexts. With advanced training in eating disorders, traumatic bereavement, gender studies, and coaching, Delfina bridges psychological insight with practical strategies for growth. She also brings extensive experience in supporting individuals through migration and cultural adjustment, helping clients navigate identity, belonging, and emotional resilience during life transitions. Delfina is a member of the British Psychological Society, with HCPC registration in progress.

Therapeutic Approach

Delfina’s practice is rooted in:

  • Psychodynamic principles that support long-term insight and transformation
  • Behavioural interventions to reduce distress and build coping strategies
  • A person-centered, integrative framework that adapts to each client’s needs
  • Relational depth and clinical structure, offering both safety and challenge

She believes therapy is not just about symptom relief, but about creating lasting change and a more authentic connection to self and others.

Delfina’s therapeutic process begins with a series of assessment interviews designed to understand the client’s emotional landscape, personal history, and current challenges. These initial sessions help establish a clear therapeutic direction and ensure that the support offered is tailored to the individual’s needs.

If the client is a minor, Delfina conducts a separate interview with the parents or guardians to gather essential background information and collaboratively define goals for the child or adolescent’s therapy. This step ensures that the therapeutic journey is grounded in understanding, safety, and shared commitment.

Following the assessment phase, Delfina works with each client to co-create a therapeutic plan. This may include weekly sessions, short-term interventions, or longer-term psychotherapy, depending on the nature of the concerns and the client’s preferences. Throughout the process, Delfina maintains a flexible and responsive approach, adapting to the emotional state and evolving needs of each person.
