Artemis Manias, Chartered Counselling Psychologist Bsc Msc PGdip

“Healing is not about erasing the past—it’s about reclaiming your strength, rewriting your story, and stepping into the life you deserve.”

With over 20 years of experience as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, I am deeply committed to helping individuals, couples, families, and young adults navigate life’s challenges. My approach integrates psychological expertise with compassionate, solution-focused therapy, supporting clients across a broad spectrum of issues—including burn-outs, impostor syndrome, self-esteem at work and your personal life, life and work balance, relationship/communication issues, addiction, depression, and anxiety.

What Does a Counselling Psychologist Do?

A Counselling Psychologist bridges the gap between scientific understanding and therapeutic practice, combining academic expertise in psychology with extensive hands-on experience. This dual perspective allows me to approach client challenges with both psychological insight and emotional depth, fostering meaningful growth and healing.

How I Work

Therapy is a collaborative process, and I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each individual. The journey begins with a comprehensive assessment (lasting 60–90 minutes), during which I gain a deeper understanding of your concerns, goals, and personal history. Together, we determine the most effective therapeutic path forward.

If you choose to continue therapy, I ask for an initial commitment of six sessions—a timeframe supported by research as the minimum needed to establish a strong therapeutic alliance and create impactful change. My work is rooted in evidence-based techniques, empathy, and a commitment to empowering clients to reclaim their confidence and well-being.

Academic and Professional Background

Originally arriving in the UK in the 1980s to pursue performing arts, I built a successful career in entertainment. However, following my injury, I redirected my passion toward psychology, earning my qualifications through rigorous study and self-development. My current doctoral research focuses on Parental Alienation, further expanding my expertise in complex relational dynamics and psychological resilience.

I believe in the limitless capacity of the human mind to adapt and heal, and I am dedicated to guiding my clients toward personal breakthroughs, emotional well-being, and the realisation of their full potential.
